Cookies Policy

When you use this website, we, the Polytechnic of Leiria (IPLeiria), collect and store some information on your device(s) and in our systems, as described in our privacy policy. This document outlines cookies and why they are used in the EAD platform and some of its support systems.

Cookies: what they are and what purpose they serve?

Cookies are small information files stored in the devices of our visitors through their web browsers with information about their session, like the authentication state, which user is authenticated (if any), etc.

This system uses two types of cookies:

  • Permanent Cookies: stored on the access device web browser, they are reused whenever the user returns to the site with that device and browser.
  • Session Cookies: temporary cookies stored only during the course of the visit. Depending on the settings, these cookies are destroyed by the browser when the application is closed.

The system may also use other types of cookies:

  • Functional Cookies: they are essential to the proper operation of the system (for instance, cookies with information about the authenticated user).
  • Analytic Cookies: cookies used to collect anonymous information on how users browse the website, technologies used, etc., with the main goal of improving the system.
  • Third-party Cookies: other service providers can use cookies over which we have no control. For instance, by using a video from a third-party system, other cookies can be created and linked to our system, which can have their own privacy and cookie policies. However, we do not exchange personal information directly from our system to third-party services, except with other IPLeiria systems.
